To preserve the environment in its natural state, the New Zealand government has established a wide range of quality controls that ensure the unpolluted quality of food and agricultural products exported from the country. All mussel farming and processing in the Marlborough Sounds is strictly controlled by New Zealand's Ministry of Agriculture ("MAF") to ensure that mussels conform to the highest quality standards. The Marlborough Sounds are monitored daily by an independent party to ensure that mussels are grown naturally in clean, unpolluted waters.
Our ability to maintain the high quality of MOXXOR is a function of our control over the farming and manufacturing processes. MOXXOR owns and operates its own mussel farms, guaranteeing that the mussels used are of the highest quality. Once the mussels are harvested they are rushed to our factory and processed immediately to protect their valuable polyusaturated fatty acids. The processing plants conforms to the highest quality control standards, which are strictly regulated and enforced by the New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture on behalf of the United States' FDA and EU authorities. After stabilizing (to minimize the oxidation of the polyunsaturated fatty acids) the greenlip mussels enter a two-step proprietary process. Firstly they are converted into powder form, and then into a second proprietary process where the omega-3 PUFA's (both bioavailable polar and non-polar lipids) are extracted into a pure, potent, highly-effective oil concentrate. This process takes place without the use of heat. MOXXOR controls and manages this combination of proprietary processes from ocean to final product
Grapes grown in Marlborough, New Zealand, particularly the Sauvignon blanc variety, produce world-class, award-winning wines. These grapes are grown under a Sustainable Viticulture Program that ensures the long term viability of the wine industry with minimum impact on the environment. This program ensures the traceability of the grapes from the vineyard right through the wine making process. It is from these grapes that the grape seed extract is produced. The way that the grapes are grown and the cleanliness and purity of the environment in which they are produced means that the grapes produce very high levels of natural antioxidants. MOXXOR grape seed extract is manufactured using a simple and natural process. The combination of a natural process and careful preservation of the resulting extract maximizes the antioxidant activity.
